    Description

    Hi :)

I'm Ben, a working musician and bass guitar tutor and it is my goal to help you become a better bass guitarist / music theorist!

I welcome students from ages 7 and up, of all ability levels.

In our online lessons, there tonnes of topics we can look at together:

    • Rhythm
    • Harmony
    • Creating basslines
    • Technique
    • Music theory
    • Reading music
    • Improvisation
    • Music business
    • Effective practice routines

We can also do grades: I have put students through Rock School graded exams with a 100% pass rate all the way up to grade 8. This is a great option if you would like to have a recognised qualification. My students find grades very rewarding!

Would you like to learn music theory solely? I also put students through ABRSM Music theory grades up to 5.

Please do get in touch if you want to take your bass playing to the next level! Please note, lessons are online only at present.

Thanks for looking at my page and I look forward to hearing from you.

I’ve been studying with Ben now for approx 9 months , his knowledge of theory and playing technique is excellent , he structures the lessons realy well at a level that suits the students ability , I always feel like I get value for money as I learn and make progress after each lesson , Ben has a great personality and is very patient with his students , I am realy pleased that I am learning at such a quick pace , but that’s down to having an excellent tutor , highly recommended

I have been learning bass with Ben for over 18 months now, pretty much from scratch, and I am amazed at the progress I have been able to make week after week. Ben’s knowledge and passion for music and the instrument is really inspiring and his patience and support when communicating his craft has been truly beneficial to me.

As someone experiencing my second mid-life crisis, there was no option but to learn the coolest of instruments – the electric bass.

Starting from scratch, Ben has been absolutely superb, providing a perfect mix of practical and theory whilst tailoring the lessons to suit my learning style.

Endless patience and good humour with great experience and awesome skills makes it a joy to be his student. Making our own basses together was great fun too – no competition there at all!

So in conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Ben to anyone determined to start or improve their bass playing.

PS in case you’re wondering, my first mid-life crisis involved a Suzuki super bike 😉

Thanks Martin, much appreciated. You’re so right about the coolest of instruments being the bass! (Not that I’m biased in any way 😉 ) Making the basses together was cool too!
You have really progressed and are sounding great. See you soon!
