I specialise in teaching Jazz, Rock, Pop, Soul, Funk and general, in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to take exams - but happy to coach you through if required with ABRSM or Trinity exam boards.

I am a PTLLS Level 4 Qualified Tutor and offer bass guitar, saxophone and flute lessons - from beginners to advanced adult learners from my home studio or Zoom.

I have been teaching since 2011 and have taught absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced players, and also classical players wishing to learn to play Jazz, Rock Pop Soul etc. 100% success rate woodwind Jazz Exams.

I offer student centred lessons covering basics of the instrument through to more complex jazz theory if required. I teach using simultaneous learning so you will learn about theory, music reading, playing along to music, ear training and improvising at the same time rather than treating each element separately which can become fragmented and boring.

I tailor lessons to suit your requirements. Beginners, improvers and advanced; learn about jazz theory; learn to read music, lead sheets and charts; learn about the role of a saxophone or bass player in a band.

I took several Classical Piano and Flute grades as a child, and took up the saxophone and bass later on. I studied Jazz practical and theory and went on to attain Grades 6 & 8 Trinity Jazz Saxophone - with Distinction.

I play bass guitar regularly at various venues most weekends in a covers band in all styles, and I am also in a blues/rock band. I am the house bassist for our local Clacton fortnightly Jam Night.
